File Transfer/FTP: FileZilla
FileZilla is a powerful FTP-client for Windows. It has been designed for ease of use and with support for as many features as possible, while still being fast and reliable. It handles firewalls, SOCKS4/5 and HTTP1.1 Proxy support, SSL secured connections SFTP support, and Multi-language support.
Why do I recommend this?
To be honest, there are lots of freeware FTP clients out there. The main (only?) reason I've started using FileZilla is it runs comfortably from my USB stick.
